This school year has been one of memories, some good and some bad. ln the world, President Nixon was re- elected by a landslide of votes, carrying all states but oneg he also made his historic trips to the Peopleis Republic of China and to Russia. Many Americans were saddened the day after Christmas, when after three weeks of illness, the former President Harry S. Truman died. Less than a month later, on January 22, the only living former president, Lyndon Baines Johnson, died after a sudden heart at- tack. ln school there was the memory of many new and different things. A new superinten- dent came to Eldo, bringing with him new and sometimes different ideas. French was added to curriculumg also Fiction and Advanced Composition, and Vocabulary and Mythology for Seniors who wished to take a fourth year of English. New lights were installed at the foot- ball field, a track record board was made to put in the lobby, and an athletic schedule board was built on the back lawn ofthe school.
