Betty Garber has built an airport at Montevallo and we see that she is doing a thriving business. Her friend, Mary Ellen Kennedy, who has an airport in Wyoming, comes to see her quite often. Pat Foley now holds the title of World Champion Chess Player. Betty Greer is a hot rod driver and enters many races. She is very proud of her car, which she calls Betty's Blue Bumper. Charles Belcher is a poet, He is trying some of Brov:ming's techniques and is meeting with consid- erable success. Monte Norman is a private secretary to Marilyn Monroe. He says he always seems to find some- thing to do. ' Mary Ann Morgan owns some valuable oil property near Oklahoma City, and she has quite a few oil wells. She also has a very important rancher for her business manager. Robert Pace and Nancy McLean live on the West Coast. Nancy is a model and Bob a photographer. They are one of the most famous teams in the country. Stanley Shumaker is kept very busy living up to his name. International Shoe Company has built a new branch in Dedrick, Missouri. Stanley is superintendent of the new factory. Fred Banks is a commercial fisherman in China. He really enjoys his job. Speaking of China, we see that Maurice Fugate is a diplomat to that country. V Lloyd Carter is in the meat business. He grows beef on his ranch in Texas, and then ships it to Missouri to be processed at his father-in-law's meat packing plant. Dean henry is a high pressure insurance salesman. He says he owes his success to his D. E. ex- perience in E1 Dorado. Anita Gilpin and Mary Haile are dress designers. They own their own company and are distributing high class merchandise under the name of The House of Anita and Mary. They have made quite a lot of money and they are planning to soon begin buying into several other businesses. I would advise you to watch these two little designers. They are going places. Donald I-lertzberg's occupation came as quite a surprise to us. We had always imagined that he would go far, but we had no idea that he would ever become an army man. He is Commander-in-Chief of the United States Armed Forces. Shirley Hess went west and joined an Indian tribe. She is the first woman to be chief of the Apache Indians. Eugene Horning is a big-time golfer. In his spare time, he travels over the world. On his last trip he visited Junior Hunt and Robert Jadlot on their tea plantation in India. What time Robert and Junior are not in India, they are in Jolly Old England. Joyce Kidd is a reporter on the Cattleman's Daily Journal. She is also married to a very nice man and they are very happy together in their penthouse apartment. Jimior Lakin works for the government. He prints income tax forms. Bennie Livengood is a famous movie star. He got his first break because of his many charms. Arthur Murray really got a good deal when he hired Lewis McAlexander as chief dance instructor at his Kansas City Studio. Lewis is the best in the business. Janice Bishop has made a fortune manufacturing lawnmowers. Her products are known all over the world, and she is quite proud of the fact that she has the only remote controlled lawnmowers in the world. Joann Coale has a very interesting occupation. She tests overshoes for Melvin Marshall's Rice Planters' Equipment Company. We nave a member of our class who has gone far as a television announcer. This person is Larry Wallace. He is the master of ceremonies on the Wallace Will Weigh Your Will Show, a T V program giving legal advice to participants from the audience. Larry has had a large number of interviews-with members of his old class in high school. Paul Warner designs cars for an European automobile company. His work takes him to many car shows in many parts of the world where he studies devices on many kinds of cars. Norma Teague and Marcelle Smith pooled their funds and started a chain of profitable pet shops. Their specialities are gold fish and puppies. They also do much work for the Humane Society. Lloyd Neely seems to enjoy his occupation as a fire chief. Wanda Snyder lives in the Yukon, and she spends her time trapping wild animals and selling their pelts to fur traders. Wanda says that she hopes to start a mink ranch one of these days, though. Peggy Stephens and Betty Wood are also in the television industry. They are models for commer- cials. They live a glamorous life and plan to visit some of their old classmates as soon as they get a much deserved vacation. At the top of their list of people to see is Joyce Whitesell. Joyce lives in Washington D. C. She is an assistant to the Secretary of State. All who remember Loren Nichols, make it a point to let all their friends know it as he is prominent in the lumber business. He manufactures toothpicks. Doyle White has taken over the job of Mr. W. J. Steward, who was governor of Missouri. W. J. grew tired of his many duties, and despite the demands of the public, gave up his high position. Beverly Plain is a very happy housewife in Fairbanks, Alaska. She went north in a big gold rush and found a husband instead, the lucky girl. And now we come to Marvin Smith, the last member of the class of '55. Marvin has accomplished many feats to which he can point with pride, but we believe that the most important of all is the fact that he is principal of E. H. S. and is trying very hard to educate the children of El Dorado Springs. 1 l
