The Derby Dolls, under the direction of Pat Clark, had a busy season. To start off they partici- pated in the Muscular Dystrophy Kick-A-Thon in the l-louston Astr- oarena. Then they traveled to Houston to participate in the Gulf Coast Drill Team Contest where they received Sweepstakes Hon- ors. To end the year, the Dolls traveled to Commerce to partici- pate in the E.T.S.U. Blue and Gold Drill Team Contest. There they received two first and one second division ratings, The offi- cers also earned a first division. lvlrs. Clark was also awarded an outstanding directors award for having all straight ones for eight consecutive years. The 1979-80 Varsity Cheer- leaders have done a great job in providing spirit for this year's football team. They are: head cheerleader Bonnie Bergstrom, senior Ethel Williams, juniors Laura Johnson and Angie Foltyn, and also sophomores Leigh Ann Collins and Joy l-lyden.
