The Delta Sigma Chi was organized in November 1948. The purpose of the organization is to promote friend- ship and better acquaintance among women students at El Camino. This organization chooses its members by ballot. To be a member a student must be unanimously accepted and must pass a pledge period. The Delta Sigma is open to all women students qualifying for pledges by being en- rolled in 12 units and maintaining TTCT average. PHI SIGMA UPSILON PHI SIGMA UPSILON Top row: Advisor, Albert Kurr; Bethel Buckalew, Chuck Culver, Gene Brault, Don Jacobson, and Ken Scott. The Phi Sigma Upsilon is noted for its outstanding college spirit, scholarship, and participation in Camino act1v1tles. During the year the Phi Sigs sponsored some very successful dances, and gave many parties, picnics and various social affairs for its members. The active members reigned supreme in athletics, edging the pledges 14-8 in football and routing pledge basketball team 35-19. The Phi Sigma Upsilon was instrumental in starting the intra-fraternity basketball tournament.
