SIGMA PHI KAPPA 2nd SEMESTER OFFICERS George McGregor, President; Arlie Whitley, Vice-Presideni; Don Sherman, Sergeant- af-Arms; and Frank Seasone, Secretary-Treasurer. The Sigma Phi Kappa was the hrst fraternal organization to re- ceive its charter at El Camino. It is a social organization and has advocated a friendly policy toward both the student body and the faculty. The Sigma Phi Kappas are well known for their outstanding social events of the past year including their annual fall and spring dances which have always proved a huge social success. This year the Sigma Phi Kappa succeeded in winning the intra- mural fraternity basketball games and went immediately into chug-al- lug competition at the expense of the opposing teams. . . RHO DELTA DELTA This new fraternity is still in its infancy having just been recognized by the intra-club- council. The recent issuing of their charter has placed them in. the roster of El Caminds fine or- ganizations. RADIO AMATEURS This new organization is open to all those who are interested in radio. Its many interesting lectures and demon- strations are conducted by Wallace Muelder. The club aims to give its members a good background for prac- tical radio application. GAMMA EPSILON The purpose of the newly organized Gamma Epsilon is to promote interest in the earth sciences. Field trips and expeditions are the main activity of the Club with movies and lectures supple- menting them. The present officers are : Dick Gardner, President; Don Cox, Viee-President; Gretchen Hertel, See- retary; Bud Peffer and Mary Barrett having served as Past President and Secretary respectively.

The Phi Sigma Upsilon is noted for its outstanding college spirit, scholarship, and participation in Camino act1v1tles. During the year the Phi Sigs sponsored some very successful dances, and gave many parties, picnics and various social affairs for its members. The active members reigned supreme in athletics, edging the pledges 14-8 in football and routing pledge basketball team 35-19. The Phi Sigma Upsilon was instrumental in starting the intra-fraternity basketball tournament.
