Since that time they have grown far beyond its expectations. The Pledge Slave Sale, Pledge-Active Surprise, a reversal of pledging, pledge emblems and pinsJ sorority songs and exchange meetings with local fraternities were initiated this year. These activities in addition to formal or traditional functions of Gamma Phi Delta endeavor to provide a high standard of social life for its members and con- tribute to the growth and development of El Camino. Since that time they have performed many ser- vices to the college. Under the able leadership of their first semester ofhcers, Pres. Dick Wayers; Vice-pres. Dick Volesky; Sec. Fred Iwata; and Sgt.-at-arms, Phil Daher. BELLS ?iiimh The Womens Honorary Society is M made up of the women with the highest scholastic standing in the College. The BELLS serve at all Col- lege productions as ushers or what- ever other capacity they may fill. Serving as first semester officers with Eva Rivas as faculty sponsor were: Pres, Tonie Knapp; Vice- Pres., Emily Jones; Secretary, Kay Haga; Treasurer, Jeanne Clark. The second semester officers were: Audine Campbell, Pres; Tonie Knapp, Vice- Pres.; Kay Haga, Sec.; Virginia Pfiffner, Treas. SIGMA SIGMA The Sigma Sigma or Scholarship Society as it is sometimes called is made up of those members of the college student body with a B aver- age or better. This organization is open to both men and women of El Camino and is active in rendering services to the College. Leading the group for the past year were: Ed Gherna as President; Bob Bertels as Vice-President; Tonie , padkfi 'Gpedli Knapp, Secretary; and Bob Bebber CW as Treasurer. Page Fifty-nine

RHO DELTA DELTA This new fraternity is still in its infancy having just been recognized by the intra-club- council. The recent issuing of their charter has placed them in. the roster of El Caminds fine or- ganizations. RADIO AMATEURS This new organization is open to all those who are interested in radio. Its many interesting lectures and demon- strations are conducted by Wallace Muelder. The club aims to give its members a good background for prac- tical radio application. GAMMA EPSILON The purpose of the newly organized Gamma Epsilon is to promote interest in the earth sciences. Field trips and expeditions are the main activity of the Club with movies and lectures supple- menting them. The present officers are : Dick Gardner, President; Don Cox, Viee-President; Gretchen Hertel, See- retary; Bud Peffer and Mary Barrett having served as Past President and Secretary respectively.
