S First semester President, Gretchen Hertel, Dr. lois Swanson, and second semester President, Maryan McClelland. E1 Caminds Associated Women Students is an organization composed of all women enrolled in the college and is aimed at promoting friendly relations between women and organizing social functions for the women students. High points of the 1948-1949 A.W.S. Activities were the Sadie Hawkins Dance and the Centinela Valley Cosmetology demonstration, at which more than twenty women students received free hair stylings and beauty pointers from a group of local and nationally known cosmetologists. This demonstration was the Erst of its kind to be given at a Southern California College and it was received with great enthusiasm by the women. A fashion show and a tea for the women students and their mothers held in? May culminated the yearis events. Secon'd semester A.W.S. board: Mary leonurd, Rita Sabota, Adeline Weaver, Pres.
