AQB SHI TERM Std In REGIOIIRU The Boys,'Ski Team finished on a divisional level of fourth place. Their overall record for the season was 11--3. Wayne Ward was the only Eisen- hower skier to qualify for the state meet. He also qualified for the United States Ski Association's Junior Nat- ionals in Alyeska, Alaska. The Girls' Ski Team finished in fifth place in their division. They also finished their season with a 1-6 record. Second Row: Eileen Lynch, Nancy Tucker, Lori LeBlanc, Jeanne Col- ling, Diane Ponichtera, Linda Forrester. Third Row: Kathy Kubzak, Jan Becker, Michele Crovella, Donna Rousseau. Bum the neu! Eisenhower's Girls' J .V. Basketball Team was coached by Jim Noble. A re- cord of 9 and 9 ended the season and the girls gained much experience. Sophomores Diane Ponichtera, Lori LeBlanc, and fresman Amy Blake, led the team in scoring abilities. Diane led with an 8.2 average per game, foll- owed by Lori's 6.5 average and Amy with 4.1. The Commander girls scored an average of 33 points per game, while their opponents averaged only 32.2. Up for two! Jeanne Colling, while Linda Forrester looks on. Finishing the season with a 28 wins and 41 loss record in the Sagin- aw Bay Debate League, earning the Eisenhower Debate Team first pl- ace in both divisions. They also placed first in the novice division of the Thumb B League. On December ll, the team competed in the State Novice Pre- liminary Debate Tournament ag- ainst 75 high schools to determine the top 15 debate teams in the state. Ike finished in a tie for first place with East Lansing High School and advanced to the state finals on January 7 and 8 at the University of Michigan. Individual stand-outs for the debaters in the affirmative division were: Ron Murphy, Chris Ruo- navaara, Debbie Hallman, Janet Matthias and in the negative divi- sion were: Dave Weadock, Tim Rosin, Terry Weadock, and Bruce Jasperson.
