Swim Team I0lh in the Stale Clem I3 Last yearis swim team, coached by Paul Galinski, finished a fine season by placing 10th in the Class B State Championship swim meet. In the meet, our strong Medley Relay team of Geoff Hunter, lan Dun- scombe, John Thompson and Tom Woods, finished an outstanding 3rd for the Commanders. Tom Woods, our only triple medal winner, placed llth and 12th in the 50 and the 100 yard freestyles, respectively. lan Dun- scombe also finished 7th in the 50 yard Freestyle. Rick Bortle, Geoff Hunter, Marty McDonald and Doug Jordan also qual- ified for Class B State Championships in the Freestyle Relay. Shoal the Hoop! Coached by Mr. Terry Boswell, the Girls' Varsity Basketball Team comp- leted a successful season. Their over- all record was 12 wins, 7 losses. A White Pine record of8 wins and 2 losses earned the girls the conference champ- ionship for the second year in suc- ession. The team was well balanced. Six different players paced the teams scor- ing at various times throughout the season. Leading scorers were senior, Vicki LeBlanc, and sophomore Diane Forrester. Diane contributed a White Pine Conference average of ll.6 points per game and Vicki an average of 9.9 points per game. Barb Chaklos, also a senior, led the Commanders with 100 rebounds in the White Pine Conference. Defense was also an important factor to the girls, season. Foiling the oppo- nents offense was the main ob- jective for the season. ane Forrester fProl shows her style.
