The Winning lllct One: Girls' Swim Team: Front Row: Mary McClellan, Shelly Koenemann, Missy McClellan, Lori Krawczyk, Cindy Kocks, Julie Rawls, Coach Rick Decker. Competitionlfl-2 Won 9 lor! 8 After getting off to a slow start of one and four, this year's girls, swim team pulled through and won five of their last seven meets. The highlight of the season was a splashing victory over the highly favor ed Chargers of Midland Dow. The teamis four top swimmers Missy McClellan, Julie Rawls, Mary McClellan, and Mindy Lehman, quall fied for the Class A State Swimming Meet hosted at Central Michigan Um versity. Mary McClellan had the honor of placing fourth in the state, in the 100 yard freestyle. The Commander girls sent more swimmers to this meet than any other team in the Tri-City HIGH.
