Math and Science The math and science teams had a very successful year. ln number sense, Anita Wells placed fourth in region- als while Alan Wilson placed second in regionals and ninth in state. The science team received many awards. They entered various science fairs and competed against other teams in written tests. They placed highly in most of these contests. The Calculator team also did very well, placing high in many contests. One of these was the J.E.T.S. Math Contest held at Texas A and M Univer- sity. Qorfin If All Uuf Each year when the freshmen come to Eisenhower they find a whole range of science courses to choose from. Only two years of science are required to graduate, but students may take advanced science classes such as Chemistry I, Physics, or Biology ll. A new course offered at lke this year is Chemistry Il, taught by Mrs. O. Dry. Along with Mrs. Dry, Coach Dixon, Mrs. Gorden, Mrs. Lewallen, and Mrs. Wooten make up the science department. Their goal is to help us better understand ourselves and our world through science.
