In looking back at the 1977-1978 school year, there was joy, happiness, frustration, disappointment and many other mixed emotions. Several clubs and teams as well as individual teachers and students accomplished a lot. The seniors have made a lot of new friends and old friendships have lengthened. The year was a very good one and will always be remembered. Even though the seniors are going their own paths to achieve their goals, they can look through these pages and bring back memories. The underclassmen will return with their new ideas and hopes for the future. They can recall memories and plan for their next year at Eisenhower. I would like to thank each and every staff member for the time, effort and long hours spent putting this book together. To lVlr. Weems the yearbook sponsor, everyone is thankful for his time, work and help. The Aquila Staff kicked off the yearbook sales this year with the first annual slide show. The library helped by letting the staff use their equipment and facilities to organize the slide show. A special thanks to lvlr. George Hyland for his contributions to make the slide show a success. Every year the staff presents the annual Coronation. The effort by the staff that was put forth to present the Coronation to the students, teachers and parents was unmeasurable. lt was a lot of hard work and turned out to be a big success. lVlr. Sizemore supplied the carnations and Covington Nursery donated the beautiful greenery which added a lot to the stage setting. The woodshop made the nice archways. To everyone who helped, thanks again, the staff and l really appreciate it. lVlrs. Bruner, thanks for keeping the books and helping the staff balance the budget. lvlark David, Taylor Representative, thanks for your assistance. To all companies and people who bought ads thanks a lot with helping us with the cost of the yearbook. Thanks to the teachers, for letting staff members out of class for critical deadlines. And most of all I would like to thank everyone who bought the Aquila, without whom there would be no reason to put it together. Editor-In-Chief 281
