60 Aquila Qfaff I 9 78! The yearbook Staff not only put the Aquila together, but they had several other activities during the year. The first few weeks of school the staff sold advertisements to local businesses to help with the cost of the yearbook. The First Annual Slide Show was presented to the student body and teachers to kick off the Aquila sales. The slide show was a big success and resulted in selling the most yearbooks since the school opened. On February 14, 1978, the staff presented the annual coronation. The theme for the coronation was Let Us Call You Sweetheart. The A Cappella Choir sang and the stage band played to provide entertainment. The Mistress and Master of Ceremonies were Vivian Bishop and Tom Donlevy. The Yearbook staff dedicated the Aquila to Mr. Barton Massey. The coronation turned out to be a big success and was enjoyed by the participants as well as their parents and friends. Putting the Aquila together was by no means an easy task. lt required a lot of long hours and a staff full of dedicated people. Along with the time spent in school, it required time after school taking pictures of games and events, getting information from teachers, students, coaches, and club sponsors about various school functions. The staff would like to extend special thanks to Scott Plasek and Cal Froberg for their photographic assistance in preparing the yearbook. 'TT Photographer Vince Colonetta adjusts his camera. Stadium. Since the 5O's, music has changed drastically to the sound of hard rock. Somehow Chubby Checker, or ShaNaNa can't compare with the sound of Joe Walsh, Led Zepplin, or Foghat. Concerts are certainly exciting, especially when musicians such as Queen, Eagles, Peter Frampton, Deep Purple, Pink Floyd, Led Zeppelin Kiss, Bad Company, and BTO grace the Houston Stages. The music is great, the show worthwhile, and the thrill of seeing your favorite performer: unforgettable. Queen Foghat
