The Future Teachers of America, F.T.A. is an organization geared to the career of teaching. The group, spon- sored by Cheryl Rader and Jerry Orsak participated in many activities throughout the year. They presented the teachers with holiday treats such as Halloween candy, apples, and Easter Eggs. They also chose a Teacher of the Month. Although they did not attend the State Convention this year, but they held a picnic at Spring Creek Park. lnstead the last big activity they had was juniors and sen- iors student teaching at Hoffman and Inwood Schools. They were then expo- sed to the real world of teaching. Cary Flynn, president, said This year the group was really enthused and eager to get involved. I appreciate the offi- cers giving up their study labs to think up new and unique projects to do in F.T.A. This year's group made more money than ever before, by selling col- lege candles and having bake sales. Senior Leslie Heck listens to what her students say Cary Flynn has her eyes on some cookies Dan Neal shows his talent at an FTA picnic. You mean YOU baked those cookies I ate??? says senior Dan Neale in panic to senior Cary Flynn.
