The 77-78 cheerleaders for IKE are Brenda Gooden, Captain, CoCaptains were Ana Rodriguez and Mandy Mitchell, seniors, along with senior Julie Peak. Anita Wells, Leslie Conway, Melanie Hunger- ford, juniors and sophomore Tracy Tubbs were the others. Some of their favorite cheers were, Tonight ls The Night, Fire It Up and The Eagle Team Is Really Hot. Super Graaf From building pyramids to mopping floors, the cheerleaders were kept very busy keeping stu- dents' spirit high. Summer camp was at SMU where they were awarded two superior ratings and two excellent ratings. At the University of Houston they attended a new attraction, a mini tramp camp. There they received the spirit stick. Aside from winning awards, the cheerleaders learned many new cheers and chants that kept IKE students cheering for their favorite teams. This year the pep rallies all had themes, for example, 50's day, Bury Humble, Hillbilly Day, etc. The school motto was SUPER GREAT. When we were elected cheerleaders, we all decided to bring back that true spirit that we'd lacked so many years at IKE.
