Oranges and Baskefballs ' At lke's last district home basketball game, the Student Council put on the Second Annual Basketball Sweetheart Ceremony. As S.C., president Mike Behrle announced the candidates, they were escorted onto the court by the senior players. Ana Rodriguez was crowned Sweetheart. This year the Student Council members sold oreanges and grapefruit. Some ofthe profits to hold a banquet at the end ot the year. The choir sang while Student Council representatives from each homeroom offered their gifts and can ned goods at the Adopt One Assembly. Qfudenf Council The purpose of the Student Council is to bring about a better relationship between the faculty and student body at Eisenhower. The 1977-78 officers were Mike Behrle - pres., Tony Williams - vice pres., Sharla Branch - sec., Alan Wilson - treas., and Terry Williams - parliamentarian. This year the S.C. sponsored two very successful dances, the Homecoming and Senior Recognition Dances. A school dance always meant a cafeteria overflowing with dancers doing everything from the Two Step to the New Yorker. The Worm was the in thing to do! fi -415' eng le ct Students, teachers, alumni, and outside dates all enjoyed the music at the Senior Recognition Dance. Super Graaf From building pyramids to mopping floors, the cheerleaders were kept very busy keeping stu- dents' spirit high. Summer camp was at SMU where they were awarded two superior ratings and two excellent ratings. At the University of Houston they attended a new attraction, a mini tramp camp. There they received the spirit stick. Aside from winning awards, the cheerleaders learned many new cheers and chants that kept IKE students cheering for their favorite teams. This year the pep rallies all had themes, for example, 50's day, Bury Humble, Hillbilly Day, etc. The school motto was SUPER GREAT. When we were elected cheerleaders, we all decided to bring back that true spirit that we'd lacked so many years at IKE.
