The Fifth Annual Sports Banquet was held on April 17, 1978 in the Fled Carpart lnn. The banquet is held to honor and recognize all ath- letes in all varsity sports at Eisen- hower. Although the service and food was not the best, the speakers made the evening. Guest speaker was University of Houston Head Football Coach, Bill Yeoman. Mr. Yeoman stressed the importance of discipline ofthe players in all sports. He also emphasized that all players need the desire to win. The team's Most Valuable Player, Jessica Supernaw, Freshman, follows through on her drive at the tee box at Westwood Shores. Susan Baetz, Senior smiles as she attempts her putt with the hole behind her. The Girl's Golf Team made history at Eisenhower this year by qualifying for Regionals. After a second place finish in District 10- AAA play, the team then advanced to the two day Regional Tournament in Huntsville. This marked a first at Eisenhower, for it produced the first GirI's entry in Regional play. Coach Orsak said, The team played with a desire and determination that everyone was very proud of and only eight shots prevented them from State Play Offs.
