Vo-Ed Bond Issue ls Possed ATC to Enlorge Last August, Dr, Joseph Sicotte assumed the responsiblities of director of the Area Technical Center, bringing a wide range of business, and industrial experience to the center. So farthe attitude of most students attending the ATC has been very Dositive. The students attend school for three periods and then take a shuttle bus to the ATC building, Courses at the ATC mostly are work oriented, However, in some cases the typical class- room lecture does exist. Any course at the ATC can be taken by 4 either males or females. The ATC is open to any junior or senior, Nlost courses at the Area Tech do not require a prerequisite. The Area Tech has a lot, to offer special students who want to get a head start in their vocation or major. Board members unanimously voted not to withdraw from the center based on the slim vote margin on the December 7 referen- dum which defeated the expansion program and tax rate increase. Although the proposition lost by 11 votes in District 218, it was carried by a majority of voters throughout the three districts par- ticipating in the ATC referendum. The total vote was 1,936 to 1,313 with 796 V95 VOTBS and 807 no votes cast in District 218. 1, Johnny Brown demonstrates how laying bricks should be done, 2, Kathy Kulovitz and Janis llllarszalek look busy doing their class work, 3, Rick Padgett and students wait patiently for their next assignment, 4, Jim Vot- teler studies the architectural picture to be drawn, 5, Gerald Smith seems to be busy preparing ingredients for a receipe in food management, 6. Mr, Ftiordan and Tyler Anastaisia decide what the next step is, 7, Jean Porter watches and works with the children in child care class. 3
