English - Redding Deportment New Theotre Added to English Focilities When it comes to credit courses, the English department tops all with the grand total of tvventy. Freshmen and sophomores are required to take English 1 and 2, but they still have the opportunity to take elec- tive courses. When one takes a look at the junior and senior level, he may well see that D.D.E. has come up yet anoth- er step! Eisenhower is one ofthe first schools in Illinois to start the lVlodern Elective program, This system enables the students at cam- pus to select the English course of their choice, whether it deals with reading or vvriting. The reading center receives a great response from students, It is open to all vvho vvant to improve reading skills and techniques, Along with all of this, the English Dept. gives stu- dents a chance to work in special fields such as journalism, drama, and publications. 1, Yea!
