Golf Teom Swings First Foil Seoson 2 This year the varsity golf team certainly lived up to the title of Fighting Cardinals , with a record of 10-1 . The team took second place in Conference Championship but suffered a major de- feat in District meets. They placed 7th out of 17 schools making them in- eligible for the State Nleet. lVlike Javvor, team's NIVP, Chris D'Angelo and Duane Rubino were a great asset to the team. Golf Hos Por Yeor Jerry Vidovic, 1973 State Champion, returned for his final year to help Eisenhower place second in the Conference Championship with a 10-1 record and seventh in the district meet. This year they traveled to Joliet West to compete in the Joliet West Invitational. Out of 30 schools, Eisenhower placed an outstanding eighth. Only 18 strokes separated them from first place. Jerry was the individual tournament champion posting the lowest score of 78 for the 18 hole course. Varsity members were: seniors Rick Nordine, Joe lVlartino, Bob Opyd and Jerry Vidovic, team's captain and lVlVPg juniors Duane Rubino, Mike Jawor and Chris D'Angelog freshman Ken Vidovic. s I 1. Girls Add New Look to Cross Country 2 3 l Although the Cross Country Team's overall record was not impressive, the girls took a giant step forward winning their right to join the team. Many times in competition the girls took a back seat, but Q ,.. ,Q-11, the experience was needed and was gained. As for the team's outlook for next year, only time will tell. Varsity Record 1-11, Jr. Varsity Record 5-7.
