Homecomiing Troyels to the Future In the 5O's, Homecoming was sponsored by Girls' Club. Those were the days when the dance was fitted with the appropriate title of Pigskin Pow-Wow . A time when the King was referred to as the Big Wheel and the dance included an event known as the Snake Dance. This event had to be canceled over the years because ofthe growth ofthe school's enrollment. Because times are changing at such a rapid pace, D.D. E.'s student council, along with the student body, decided to journey into the future with the theme of 2001 . The week started off with Athletic Day, Cartoon Day Future Day and concluded with a combination of Student Government and Red 84 White Day. The festivities on Saturday were sparked off in the morning with the traditional parade, in which many groups and organizations participated. Following the parade the fighting Cards, both Soph. and Varsity were cheered to victory by a fullhouse crowd. The annual dance took place that evening in the Campus gym. Couples danced to the music of Jubal Jerry Palomo and Cindy Galati reigned as the 1974 King and Queen. 1. Seated are 1974 King and Queen Jerry Palomo and Cindy Galati. Surrounding them are 1st runners-up Steve Vasoli and Kim Davis along with last year's King and Queen Sundra IVlapp and Jim Ornelas. 2. Girls attending the king and Queen were ll. to r.l Kim Davis, August Drake, Kelly Harting, Miranda Nolen, Carmen Chico, Janice lVlulderink and Doreen Antis. 3. A group of happy fans for all the right reasons as the fighting Cards were the victors over Thornton by a score of 32-24.

Q Girls' Club Promotes D.D.E. Activities Girls' Club is one ofthe oldest and most active at D.D.E. Girls' Club hosts one ofthe first dances of the school year, Kick-Off. Father- Daughter Date Night, Mother-Daughter Night, and Turnabout are also important activities on their agenda. The girls also get involved in com- munity activities. This year they sewed Christmas stockings for the Red Cross. 1, Darlene Zurek, Kathi Furtek, Mr. Tumberello, Jean- ette Fiichardella, and Debbie Arrendo take a break to 3 pose for a picture at D,D,E,'s annual Kick-Off Dance, 2 Mrs. Disabato and Mrs. Gricus seem to be enjoying themselves at this Mother-Daughter reception, 3.
