Hypnotist George Sharp amazed many with his outstanding performance. Students volunteered to participate prior to that day, so all was set up and waiting for Mr. Sharp. l-le caught the attention of the audience by proving his hypnotic powers. Soon the participants were transformed from frightened children, and beauty queens to the romantic Romeo and Juliet. The spaghetti feed was given in honor of our fall sports. The football, water polo and cross country teams were served by Azurettes. All the pep squad groups performed and showed their support for our teams. The confusion ot the first week of school was broken with the annual hello hop. Ted Brown from a local radio sta- tion, KFXM provided the music with titties records. They danced to such tunes as Bock Around the Clock and 'tAt the l-lop. There were various dance contests and records were given away as prizes. Doreen Flores and Jerry Flowers won the twist contest, while Chris Chavez and Bill Greeley won a dance contest. Bandy EII took the prize for lip-syncing to 'tThe VVitchdoctor, and Susan Clark tor dancing. Everyone combed back their DA's, put up their ponytails and had a swinging time.
