Students ended their summer vacation, with class registration for the coming year. They had the task of selecting their classes and teachers, which proved to be confusing for sophomores, and easy for upper classmen. Due to changes in registration procedures, long lines were eliminated because bus pass, locker assignment, and ASB card sta- tions were outside of the gym area. Counselors were in the registration area offering their help to any students who had schedule problems. Senior Portraits were taken at Eisenhower during the summer months. With the beginning of the new school year, the rainder of the portraits were taken. Retakes were scheduled for those who wanted them or were on the bad canaster of film. Seniors began the many money spending tasks by selecting the portrait packages they wanted and could afford. TOP LEFT: Sophomore Dawn Nelson attempts to organize her schedule. The confusion ot the first week of school was broken with the annual hello hop. Ted Brown from a local radio sta- tion, KFXM provided the music with titties records. They danced to such tunes as Bock Around the Clock and 'tAt the l-lop. There were various dance contests and records were given away as prizes. Doreen Flores and Jerry Flowers won the twist contest, while Chris Chavez and Bill Greeley won a dance contest. Bandy EII took the prize for lip-syncing to 'tThe VVitchdoctor, and Susan Clark tor dancing. Everyone combed back their DA's, put up their ponytails and had a swinging time.
