You are at the commence- ment of your careers. The most important think now is to determine what you wish to do, to set your goal. Twelve years from now will you be Mdoctor, lawyer, merchant ehicfw? Wfith the goal chosen, you must then start paying the price to attain it. The price may be in terms of hard study in college, an apprenticeship in a trade, work on a farm, or doing without most luxuries in order to save money for a home and for investments. There is not one of you who will not accomplish much more hy preparing for some definite achievement than you will in working aimlessly simply because you can not decide what you like to do best. Most of you have the ability to attain your goal if you will only decide what that goal is. pay Qu? Twelve

Senior Class Histor It is diflieult for us as Seniors, who have reached the point of leaving our school life, to express the many varied emotions which we have felt as we have gone through the experiences of the past few years. Only with considerable effort can we remember the feelings with which we entered the halls of E. H. S., in the fall of 743. lvith high hopes of winning the acclaim of the upperclassmen, we felt that we were going to do something really worthwhile to prove to them our ability. Yve soon found that it was the upperclassmen's joy to sup- press our hopes. Another interesting ex- perience for us was the election of our class ollicers. It was very exciting when the re- turns eame in at the election dance. llfany of the Sophomore boys eagerly participated in football, basketball, and track. Chorus work claimed the attention of many of us, and we participated in the boysi, girls, and mixed choruses. There were quite a number of us who were given the opportunity to take part in presenting the Easter Cantata, The Crueifixionf' The Sophomore-Junior play, njunior-Miss, was quite a success, promising dramatic ability for our future years in E. H. S. XVith the aid of the Juniors we honored the Seniors with a Sophomore- ,lunior Prom. This was one of the closing events of our successful year as Sophomores. As Juniors, we now set about up-setting the underclassmcn's great hopes and desires. Many of ou1' boys now participated in sports as second year men, and we had a very successful athletic year. The Sophomore- Junior play was presented with all of the large cast endeavoring to make the Junior presentation of nExeursion, better than that of the Sophomores. Many of us also participated in the operetta, The Merry Widow. We brought our second year to a close by bidding the current Seniors farewell with a Sophomore-Junior Prom. By the fall of '45, we were not so much interested in crushing the hopes of the underclassmen, as we were in making our last year at E. H. S. a profitable one. At intervals lnany of the members of our class have left us to serve in the various branches of the Armed Forces. A number of our class served on the Orange and Black Staff, in the band, on the drill team, and also on our cheerleading squad. Our class play, 'GTish, was immensely enjoyed by all of us. The Juniors and Sophomores honored us by sponsoring a formal Spring Dance. Among the last events of our school life was our Baccalaureate Service and our Campus Day program which added a beautiful pic- ture for us to remember always. Our Graduation left us with a feeling of in- security and a sense of fear, none of us knowing what was before us, but with the hope that the training we received here would enable us to meet any of life,s problems ereditably. Foul teen
