Fashions at E.H.S. This W as the Year High school days are remembered by dif- q ferent people in different ways. Some will remember the teachersg others will remem- ber the studentsg one group will remember the activitiesg still others will remember the clothes we wore. All the pictures in the an- nual reveal the clothes which are the most popular this year. This page, however, is reserved entirely for the fashions at E. H. S. in 1966. Years from now, we can look at The henley neck made its this page and easily remember that this was debut this year. the year' ' ' that penny loafers were the most popular shoes for both boys and girls. that burgundy reigned as the most popu- lar color. that velour sweaters made their debut. that wing tip shoes regained popularity. that girls wore knee socks. that a group of Senior boys tried to estab- lish yellow cords. that girls wore clothes styled after Gran- nie's. that paisley appeared in boys' fashions. that benchwarmer coats were worn. that boys wore Bonanza shirts. Shoulder bags and that western ideas influenced the styles in clothes. that brushed denim appeared. that zip turtle neck shirts were worn. that empire dresses were popular. that girls wore boy boy sweaters. that surfer crosses were in . that shoulder bags were carried. that boys wore black socks. knee socks became fashions for girls. Ten years from now we will laugh at the styles that are in today. We will think to ourselves, I-low could I have worn those clothes? Charm bracelets, started several years ago, were still popular this year. 4 As summer approached, many donned surfer crosses Wii?' ..-1 We Declicate ur Yearboo Some individuals are forced to live up to a name because a close relative made that name outstanding. Other people must live up to a name because of its meaning. For example, how can a man be sloppy, mean, or sarcastic when neatness is part of his name? He cannot. Mr. Neet, our pre-college rhetoric instructor truly does live up to his name. Mr. Neet upholds his name both in and out of the classroom. He is always willing to help a student with any type of problem. Many times, students who are having difficulty with English can be found in his room where Mr. Neet is trying to straighten them out. School does not end at four o'clock for this teacher. He spends many eve- nings either at home grading papers or at school sponsoring activities. ln return for all that he has given the student body, we could not have offered him sums of money or piles of gifts. Money is spent and forgotteng gifts are worn out and thrown away. We wanted something which could be saved so that the future students would know how much we appreciated his efforts.
