As the Wheel Turns No high school student knows the thrilling moment when the dusty SIGNET is taken off the shelf and scanned by the wistful eyes of its owner. As he leafs through the annual, he re- members the problems of homework, the fun of sports and school activities, and the beauty of the dances. Now the SIGNET is just an auto- graph book with Best of Luck from all of your friends, Years from now it will suddenly be- come a storehouse of memories and a tonic for youthfulness. It is for the tomorrows that the SIGNET Staff of 1966 has compiled the main events of this School Year. When we look at our high school days ten years from now, we might find life at Effing- ham High similar to a wheel. The focal point of school, the learning process, could be the hub of the wheel. The wheel, however, must have other parts to make it roll. The spokes represent each aspect of school life: the rim represents the student body. Each part of the wheel is joined together. The spokes are fastened to the hub and encircled by the rim. Just like the wheel, the school would not roll smoothly if all parts were not united.
