SOCIAL STUDIES By studying subjects such as ge- ography, world history, American his- tory, world affairs, and government, a student should acquire a good back- ground for the understanding and in- terpretation of the events of the past and their relationship to present and future happenings. Courses, such as psychology and sociology, should help him to understand himself and his fellow man, thus making him a better citizen. It must be interesting! Oh come on! It can't be that bad. All together now, 1,2,3. .. . PHYSICAL EDUCATION At E.H.S. physical education is a very welcome fifty-five minutes of activity. Al- though the girls were unable to have P.E, classes until the new gymnasium was com- pleted, the P.E. classes which were held provided opportunities for student development through the proper forms of physical and mental activity. The spirit of co-operation gainedfrom group plays as well as sportsmanship and desirable health habits will result from these physical education activities. Boys' P.E, class makes use of the new gym. The soothing effect of pastel walls, fluorescent lights, and soft music creates an atmosphere of quiet study for the students who want to work there. The audio-visual area and faculty conference room area welcome addition. The new magazine storage space is especially appreciated by the students who’ have to write research papers.
