Everyone had irouble idenfifying even his besf friend in such cos- 'rumes as a grandfa+her's clock, hunchback. or a big head. I+ was even discovered how Miss Be++y eungf would look as s rabbn and Miss Nellie .Alexander as a canni- bal. Affer 'Phe grand march prizes were awarded fo fhe besi' cos- fumes in each group. INSTRUMENTAL MUSIC Mr. Cleaon Efzlcorn, direcfor of fhe Edwardsville High School band, has been here wifh us for fhree years. During fhaf fime he has succeeded in building up a sfrong and efficienf band organizafion. Mr. Efzlcorn faughf music af McBride High School in S+. Louis before he came fo Edwardsville. He is a World War ll veferan, having served in fhe Unifed Sfaies Army. There he played wifh fhe Camp Callanr Band in San Diego, Calif. He has played wifh some of fhe counfry's besl' musicians and has observed fhe per- formances of fhe finesf bands and orchesfras. During fhe summer monfhs he direcfs fhe Wood River Munici- pal Band, plays barifone wifh fhe Edwardsville Municipal Band, and holds summer rehearsals wifh fhose members who can affend. Mr. Efzlcorn is always building for a beffer and bigger ba.nd. Through his fireless efforfs we are cerfain fhaf fhe fufure bands of E. H.
