Every game needs players. X exception to this rule is the game of education. The first team is composed of seniors, the second team of juniors, while the sophomores are scrubs, and the water-boys are freshmen. TEAMS (CLASSES)

FIRST TEAM SENIOR CLASS HISTORY Four short years ago—too short, as they seem now—probably one of the greatest— if not the greatest—varied assortment of child prodigies, geniuses and what have you entered the portals of E. H. S. for the first time. And. yes, dear readers, as you may have already guessed, we entered as Freshmen. After all, we future greats had to enter in some fashion and most of us decided we would start at the bottom and work up. Reservedly, we say “most of us,” because in our clan were those chosen few who wanted to start at the top as seniors. The tutors said no, and so they came back and started at the bottom with the rest of us. Well, according to that old theory that “time has to pass,” we soon found ourselves listed as Sophomores. Hot Ziggety! and Oh. Joy! Now we, too, could look over the “lowly Freshmen” with quite some disdain. My gosh, weren’t we Sophs? After all. we were practically upperclassmen! In due time, then, we were in the upperclassmen bracket. Juniors! Could it be true? By now, the class of ’46 was making itself felt. Little by little, we were easing into the drivers’ seats, for on the athletic departments’ team rosters could be seen any number of the Junior class’s names; first, in football; then came the Junior play; next, basketball was in the limelight; and last was track; not to mention Junior names on the program in assemblies, or listed as being members of the band and orchestra. Finally, the biggest day of our career had arrived. Alas and alack! We were Seniors! It hardly seemed possible that a whole three years had elapsed; that the day for which we had patiently been waiting and pointing to for so long had at last put in its appearance. Within two months after school had started we were figuring prominently in everything, and were talked about in hushed tones. We were, in short, the envy of all the other classes. But, hey wait a minute! One day we were painfully aware that our days at this old Academy of Learning were numbered. With each passing day we grew more aware of it. For all too soon we were being let out into the big world to shift for ourselves. And shift for ourselves we will, but we know we shall always fondly remember our days at old E. H. S. as the happiest, most carefree, gayest and contented days of our life.
