It is sup- posed to be this way! We know we have taken a big chance in designing the annual like this, but it is a new decade, which means a big change. Things may seem a bit mixed-up in com- parison to the arrangement of previous yearbooks because, going along with the new direction of the book, this year's Edwardian is designed to resemble a calendar. We hope you will like our unique and somewhat different 1979 - 1980 Edwardian as a wild and crazy calendar of events! The Social Studies Club, organized in January 1980 began with a charter membership of 30 students. Our rich heritage of state and local history offers ample motivation for a didicated purpose. Several students submitted reports to ILLINOIS HISTORY magazine. An article by Gary Markman was published. Also, time was spent at the local Historical Society museum aiding in cataloging museum materials. Social events were highlighted by basketball games with Faculty vs Channet 7 all stars and ECHS Alumni and WVJC. Spring activities included the regional meeting at Mt. Vernon. Special certificates were awarded to Judy Woods, Craig Bunting, and Robbie Wick for their reports. In early May the Club traveled to Cahokia Mounds, the Gateway Arch, the Museum of Westward Expansion, and the National Museum of Transportation.
