SlIE5lNlllllDllR UMASS lll23llRlDlDlIlillllE54Ef'M The noted speed-demon, Frank Berg, was injured Oct. 24, 1960 While driving in the Mt. Carmel Speedway classics. He was rushed to the hospital at Mt. Carmel by an old classmate, Charles King, who is an ambulance driver and undertaker for the mortuary at Browns, Illinois. There he was taken in charge by a lovely young nurse, who turned out to be Patricia Cooper, another classmate. During the many weeks of convalescence, he learned many interesting things about his old friends of 1950. John Spray, who is in charge of the free movies at Parkersburg was his first visitor, and the hour fa.irly flew as he recounted that: Prof. Raymond Cnever-be-late-to-classl Ward is'now teaching American History in E. C. H. S., taking the place of the retired Virgil Hortin. Jean Uttecht is owner and manager of Osh-Kosh-B'gosh Blue Jean Factory. And remember Mary Jo Ann Orr? VVell, she is busily campaigning for Presidency of the Be Kind to Short Folks organization. Her campaign manager is Gerald Goodnight Hinman. Keith Elliott has just organized a swing band and he is to make his opening appearance at the Avalon in Mt. Carmel next week with his featured vocalist, Fred Sinatra Keener. ' Lois Ewing has recently received the Oscar for being the nation's top dramatic actress of the year. Mary Ann Farmer is a farmer's wife living with in-laws and raising eight kids. Fred Fawkes is proprietor of Shaw's Store assisted by Vanita. Jack Gubbins, head of a chain of theaters in Southern Illinois, has promised the public a better grade of pictures in the near future. Our speech whiz, Gene Hockemeyer, is a famed photographer now, but spends most of his time taking pictures of his favorite subject. fVeda is very photogenic.J And say, did you know that Ronald James succeeded Henry Ford as President of the Ford Motor Company in 1958? Gail Colyer is teaching bookkeeping at Old Edwards High. ' Harold Cooper, owner of the Evansville Press, is still trying to raise the paper boys' wages. Eu Don Couch is owner and operator of the new grain elevator in ery. Af Don Cullison has been gone three years coon hunting in deep dark rica. .
