The Hornets advanced into the Section 10 Playoffs by defeating Colton, Lisbon, Brushton- Moira, and Hammond. After beating Hammond, the Hornets won the Division “D” title, however the Hornets lost to Gouverneur for the overall Section 10 Crown. Although they lost to the Wildcats, the Hornets went to Herkimer to play the Brookfield Beavers. In a close fought bat- tle, the Hornets lost by only two points. First year coach Alan Minkler did a great job coaching the Hornets this year and both he and the team must be congratulated. Herb Hale was selected for the All-Northern Academic Basketball award and Bill Davison was selected for Second team All-Northern and Chris Averill made Honorable Mention. We hope that the 1983-1984 basket- ball season will be just as successful as this year’s has been. 24
