Leah Noble 1899-1982 IN MEMORY OF Born in Weehawken, New Jersey on April 19, 1899, Leah Noble ac- complished much during her lifetime. She was a graduate of Edwards High School, attended Potsdam Normal School, received a B.S. degree from New York University and an M.A. degree from Pratt Institute. Miss Noble taught for 40 years. Teaching first at Hudson, Rome and Rockville Center, then later at Edwards, retiring in 1961. She established the Edwards Museum and every Wednesday found her there doing her town historian duties. Miss Noble was an active member, officer, and past Sunday School teacher of the Edwards Methodist Church. She was on the board of trustees of the Edwards Hepburn Library, a member of Edwards Grange, Senior Citizens, and the Retired Teachers’ Association. She was a past leader of the Brownies, Girl Scouts and Yorker Club. The award of “Citizen of the Year” by the Edwards Lions Club in 1981 was a fitting tribute to a lady who always had a cheerful smile and hello for everyone, time to run any errand, a willingness to try anything, and a great love for life and family. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her — young and old.
