Mr. Mayer ■ Mr. Mayer is retiring from the position of Supervising Principal at Edwards Central School, a position he has held for eighteen years. Aside from his educational advance- ment, Mr. Mayer has participated in many groups and has received many awards. Mr. Mayer was graduated from the University of Illinois, where he received his Bachelor’s degree, majoring in Physical Education and Mathematics. He received his Mas- ter’s degree at New York University and also did graduate work at Cornell. He has held coaching positions at Tredwell, New York; Machias, New York; and Cherry Creek where he was also Supervising Principal for five years. Before coming to the North Country, he was principal at Van Etten, New York. He taught Math for two years at Clifton—Fine where he also held the position of J.V. coach. Mr. Mayer came to Edwards as Supervising Principal in 1954. He is a member of the Masonic Lodge and is a Past Master of the Lodge in Machias, New York. He is a member of the Odosagih Chapter, Order of the Eastern Star. He is past president of the South Dayton, New York Lion’s Club. Mr. Mayer was President of the former Northern Zone New York State Teachers Association. He served four years on the Board of Directors of the New York Teachers Association. He is a member of Phi Delta Kappa National profession fraternity for teachers in education, the New York State Teachers Association; the National Education Association and the Secondary School Principals Association. Mr. Mayer will still have contact with the school, as he will serve as President of the A.F.S. next year. We, the students and faculty of Edwards Central School, wish to thank Mr. Mayer for his many years of dedicated service. We sincerely appreciate all your time and effort and wish you the best of luck and health.
