I am a Columbian, I live in Bogota. I have five brothers and three sisters, I am the third in the family. My father is a lawyer, my mother a house-wife. I didn’t know that a person can understand others with- out speaking his own language until I knew about this pro- gram and came here. I am so happy living with the Brassard Family with whom I have been learning a new life, a new language, a different way to eat, and a lot of things that I will never forget. I give thanks very much to the A.F.S. in Edwards and ev- ery family that contributed to bring me here. I give special thanks to the Brassard Family, to Edwards Central School, and to Edwards. A.F.S. Eve always wanted to travel, and with the help of our local A.F.S. chapter I was able to spend last summer in Northern Germany. I felt at home with the Mathiessen fam- ily, and am proud of the fact that I was NOT a tourist. That experience will always be important to me. My only hope is that A.F.S. in Edwards goes on, and that more of our peo- ple are able to go abroad as I did.
