Through efforts of every member of the band, we managed to raise the quota needed to begin our cam- paign. The final amount was added by many organizations and people of our town. We appeared in public in our new uniforms for the first time, on Memorial day under the di- rection of Mr. Robert Smith. Throughout the summer, under his direction and Mr. Glenn Goodale, our summer director, we impressed the north country and added victory onto victory. Traveling to the State Fair, we placed fif- teenth, best in the north country. Our drum major placed third in his competition. Mr. Smith retired from his posi- tion leaving it open to Mrs. Elizabeth Knott. Under her direction we hope to have many more successful appear- ances. Color Guard—C. Bullock, C, Soper, M. Conklin, J. Honsky, D. Thorton. 20
