Lutz. 2nd. row: C. Dame, T. Hurley, H. Bullock. On May 26, 1946, I saw my first light of the world. My dear parents are Mr. and Mrs. Clotildo Gallardo. My hometown, Mambajao, is one of the five towns of Camiguin Is. which is at the north- ern tip of Mindanao. This town has a volcano, Mt. Hibok-hibok. It erupted three times. The third time, in 1951, was the most terrible one. I can remember it well. I thought that it shook the whole world. Two villages were buried underground and hundreds of people died, but now you can see how peaceful the town is. The people live contentedly reaping the fruits from the fertility of the ground due to the eruption. The average temperature of my place goes up to 105 degrees F., 60 is really cold for us. I have 2 brothers and 3 sisters, Antonio, Rogelio, Aurelina, Fely M Marie, Cheryll. I am the second oldest. The first three are boys and then three girls. I am amused by some old folks saying it is a lucky combination. After the graduation here in Edwards my year of stay in this friendly town of wonderful people will come to an end physically, but not mentally. This place will always remain in memory till death do us part . This year is a great benefit for me. First of all I will be knowing lots of things of this country which aren't contained in the textbooks, and further more I will know better the people who make up this powerful nation. I will have lots of practice with my English which will help me in my further studies. I really miss my family and friends, but I am still happy because people here understood me, my teachers and classmates did their best to make me feel at home, even if the climates bother me, and I have a wonderful American family who are very dear to me. I think the American Field Service achieved its goal of promoting international peace and friendship. I understood more about the countries of all A. F. S. foreign students. I can't help but praise the American people who started this. My country has great respect for this nation, not of its missiles, but of its goal to promote peace. I hope and always pray that in the future there will be a complete peace and harmony among men. We have enjoyed very much having Ernie with us this year, and we hope we have made him feel at home. We will always remember his warm smile and pleasant ways. 30 honor society Advisor: Mr. G. Grant. 1st. row: B. Rice, L. Bridgeland, L. Lea, K. Dame, L. Cassidy, R. Noble. 2nd. row: M. Leary, C. Karen Allen now has her own jazz band called the Witty Wittons. Paul Cole has replaced Smokey the bear in his forestry work. Diane Barker is now teaching business courses in Mrs. Pratt's place. Bert Lutz is now manufacturing his own cars. Race cars of course. Carol Randall is now working on a book called How to Keep a Man. Ray French has replaced Ben Casey as the teenager's national medical hero. Sheila Hurley is now back at old E. C. S. teaching the little monsters how to act. She'll never do it. Herbie Bullock is now an engineer and he and his equipment are inseparable. It surely must be tough eating lunch with a tripod between him and the table. Margaret Leary is now a beautician fixing her own hair as an example for her clientele. Fred Zeller is now pitching for the New York Yankees when his arm is not in a sling from signing autographs. Donna Webb is now a private secretary for the Hooterville Construction Company in Hooterville. Glenn Goodale has joined the space program and is in the news regularly for his far-out adventures. Brenda Pascoe is now a successful nurse working for Ben Casey. Roger Noble is now an engineer and has just completed a superhighway over Edwards. His only problem now is bringing it back to earth. Joanne Lashua has finished business school and is now taking shorthand for Perry Mason. Bill Schryer has recently heen discovered for his whistling abilities and is now known as the Happy Whistler. Carol Lashua is now a nurse, when she isn't flirting with the interns, that is. Ernie Gallardo has made a name for himself as a surgeon, The fastest scalpel in the Philippines. Mildred Chapin is now important in the business world. But her white collar and black tie position is a pain in the neck at times. Ben DeClue in now a mine expert and has just taken the latest mining methods to the salt mines in Siberia. Ann Richards is now teaching at E. C. S. and in her spare time is writing a book entitled How to Stay Slim Without Really Trying. Terry Hurley has just won a Nobel Prize for his great advancements in the field of mathematics. Third graders can now do quadratic equations. Janet Sloan is now a very famous clerk in one of our local stores. Somehow they come out with more money than they had wherr they went in. Dave Dean has acquired the name Dangerous Dave for his racing maneuvers at Trout Lake. The direct dialing system is centered in Edwards now and Barbara Cameron is operating it. The Secrets She Knows! Charlotte Evans, still an ardent racing fan, continues to yell Go, Tooley, Go even though her husband is now a prominent figure in racing. Cheryl Todd has finally married her millionaire and is now residing in Florida when she's not in Reno. Bette Hurley with her pretty smile and blonde hair has just won her fifth beauty contest at Miami Beach. Susan Perry is now a nurse at General Hospital. She has been cast for an episode in T. V. serial. 37 HALL OF FAME Bill Schryer Ernie Gallardo Ray French David Dean Ray French Terry Hurley Terry Hurley Fred Zeller Fred Zeller Ben DeClue BEST LOOKING MOST QUIET MOST STUDIOUS MOST ROMANTIC MOST LIKELY TO SUCCEED WITTIEST BIGGEST FLIRT BEST GUM CRACKER MOST ATHLETIC MOST TALKATIVE Bette Hurley Margaret Leary Brenda Pascoe Charlotte Evans Carol Lashua Brenda Pascoe Carol Randall Carol Randall Karen Allen Cheryl Todd 38 WILL I JANET SLOAN, leave my position as an American to David Beaudry. I, BEN DE CLUE, leave my supreme ability to break laboratory equipment to some future delinquent chemist. I, CHERYL TODD, leave Donna Boulet a years supply of cigarettes so Bob Watson won't have to quit smoking. I, GLENN GOODALE, leave my ability to get that fifth foul early in the 4th. quarter and MY friendly ways of getting along with the referees; namely, James Feraro to Mike Hart. I, HERB BULLOCK, leave my position as Mr. Reed's punching bag to Bob Watson, who seems to be lacking a belt. I, ROGER NOBLE, leave my ability to pick out first-rate stocks to Mr. Reed, whose philosophy seems to be the same as mine, buy high and sell low . I, ERNESTO GALLARDO, leave my ability to play the tympani and bells to the next AFS student. I, R. J. FRENCH, leave to Donna Perry my position as goalie on the soccer team.
