Miss McGill, bom September 30, 1903, was a member of the Edwards faculty for fifteen years. She graduated from St. Lawrence University and completed her grad- uate work at Columbia University and New York University. She began her teaching career in Worchester where she taught for one year. She then taught two years in Rotter- dam, fourteen years in Lake Mahopac, one year in Pleasantville, and fifteen years in Edwards. Miss McGill accompanied many senior classes on their annual senior trips. She had also represented Supervisory District 1 at the House of Delegates. Miss McGill traveled extensively. She went to Bermuda, Alaska, Gaspe Pen- insula, Canadian Rockies and visited eleven European countries. Miss McGill died September 27, 1959 and was buried on her fifty-sixth birthday. We of the senior class, the entire student body, her fellow faculty-members, and the members of the community who knew her as a loyal and willing worker all miss her deeply. Her influence among present and former students cannot be measured, but it can be appreciated. We affectionately dedicate this yearbook of 1960 to the memory of Miss Bernice McGill. Chapin, D. Boulet, P. Matejcik, C. Soper, C. Randall. Prophecy Standing before the gates of eternity, Father Time was engrossed in deep conversation with one of his messengers. We could not help overhearing him mention the Senior Class of E. C. S., the year 1960. Since ten years have passed, and we are E. C. S. alumnae, ourselves, we immed- iately entreated him to tell us about our former friends. Obligingly, he related this to us: Maureen Barraford is now a successful artist, owning her own studio in Greenwhich Village. Roger Dusharm, first class pilot, operates a touring flight around Mars. Joan Boulet, directs the famous society pages of the New York Times. Elmer Miller, a policeman, patrols Bourbon Street beat. Earleen Lumley.has recently written another best-seller book titled,“Death of the Beatniks.” Davis Schryer is giving free lessons on “how to smile.” Nancy Todd has just set up a part-time baby-sitting service in a space capsule. Vernon Miller, successful farmer, seems to have a farm monopoly down Scotland way. Janice Matejcik is the famous business executive of Bugsville Beany Boosters, Inc. Art Whitmarsh, a mad scientist, is applying for a patent for his first invention, super duper vitamin pills for overworked teachers. F.B.I. agent, Beverly Wood, has been sent to the moon. She is spying on the Man in the Moon. Carl Poole has set up a new racket racing turtles. Annette Fuller is a famous model, modeling all the latest Paris fashions. Lawrence Morgan is the first rock and roll singer accepted by the Metropolitan Opera Co. Susie Lutz, designer of greeting cards, has just created a new wordless greeting card. James Uruburu is managing a large salmon factory located off the coast of Newfoundland. Bob Sykes is a professional basketball player with the Harlem Globe Trodders. Goldie Shore is running a square dancing school for circles in Hollywood. Lillian Bovay is busy creating hair styles for the Queen of England. Blondie and Dagwood Pill I, Roger Dusharm will to Keith Hale my crewcut. I, David Schryer leave Bernard Hurley a 60 h.p. motor boat so he can keep the girls on Trout Lake happy next summer. I, ' Nancy TJjdd leave to Guy Watson my sense of humor. I, Annette Fuller leave to Bunny La Plante my place in the upstairs hall. I, Bobby Sykes leave to Stanley Lanphear my place in the upstairs hall. I, Larry Morgan, being of sound mind and body leave my driving experience to Mr. Wagner. I, Elmer Miller, leave the Russell girls to Jon Hall. I, Vernon Miller, leave my muscles to Guy Watson. I, Susie Lutz, leave my ability to get home from a date early to Gary Hale. I, Goldie Shore, leave my first chair in the clarinet section to Sharon Hart who will probably get it any- way. Good luck Sharon! I, Beverly Wood, leave to Wee-Willie Watson my great height, hope you have better luck with it than I did. I, Carl Poole, leave Phil Soper my seat in the band. I, Maureen Barraford, leave my gum factories to any younger classmen who think they can get away with chewing gum in Mrs. Pratt’s class. I, Joan Boulet, leave to Evelyn Aldrich my ability to roam the halls and not get caught. I, Janice Matejcik, leave my ability to miss the bus on band trips to some future band member. I, Judy Duffy, leave my love for islands and adventure on the high seas to another brave adventurer. We, Jim Uruburu and Art Whitmarsh leave our uncooperative ways to Jack Allen and Ed Disotell. To Mrs. Dow: We leave an escalator for the many trips she makes between floors. To Mr. Wagner; We leave a red trailer to match his car so he won’t have to keep visiting a yellow one. To Mrs. Holmes; We leave you more understanding in the future, as a class advisor. To Mrs. Fuller: We leave a quieter and more co-operative English class. To Mrs. Sommers: We leave a more mature group than we were. To Mr. Sommers, We leave you more laboratory equipment for that of yours we broke. To Mrs. Pratt: We leave a policy to close all gum factories, so she won’t have so much trouble in the future. To Mrs. Rathbun; We leave a pair of six inch spikes so we will be sure it’s you coming. To Mr. Reed; We leave you an extra supply of tables for next Xmas so you won’t spend all your time making them. To Mr. Smith; We leave you our ability to get lost on band trips to some other lucky group. To Mrs. Adams: We leave an extension to her sick leaves. To Mr. Morse; We leave a full time guidance job at Edwards with plenty of college books. To Mr. Gillette; We leave you a milk-plant for your ulcers. All in one piece. To Rosalie; We leave you a neater office and loads of jobs we won’t be there to do. To the grade teachers: We leave our brothers and sisters-hope they don’t act like us. To the Bus Drivers; We leave our ideas of an up-to-date bus, one with a radio sporty looking and will go at least a hundred or more. To the Cooks; We leave larger amounts of Seniors to eat in the cafeteria. To Ernie and Eddie; We leave you an oversize air pump, to blow the dust out of our school. To the Juniors: We leave more “Common Sense” than we had. To the Sophomores; We leave you our ability to TRY to get along with the teachers. To the Freshmen: We leave you advice of thinking your future plans now and working for them. To the lower grades; We leave you plenty of advice-study and work now for you won’t later. 39 Dmmv osu , WoS ww SsXXtfrtVSjCVftA O l 0 rmw s o V s V aW tv t o wc vu W a fc p TOS We yWe. 40 '■ROGER J.
