CLASS ALPHABET A is for ambition which most of us lack So some of our work is apt to be slack. B is for Bernice whom we all like. The shortest in class, but a cute little tyke. C is for Connie and Charlie Clintman too, They are pretty good sports but how about you. D is for deeds which we aim to acquire, For our school which we do so admire. F is for Florence, Tootie is her nickname, As a good cook, she has acquired fame. G is for Glenn, we call him Nick, Where you find him, you’ll always find Dick. H is for honor, we all hope to gain, During future years and to win much fame. I is for Inez, Inz by name, For a party, she’s always game. J is for Jean, a little blond chick, Up her sleeve there’s always a trick. K is for Kenny, a regular flirt, Who is always after anyone in a shirt. L is for love, and we’ve got lots. And we’ve had ever since we were tots. M is for Marjorie, whose last name is Brasie, Soon after school, Day’s wife she will be. N is for nonsense and nuisance as well, Which is the better for us? Hard to tell. O is for occupation, after we leave school, In this world everyone works as a rule. ARDIAN

P is for Patience whose name is Charlie, Sometimes he's stern but he’s usually jolly. Q is for quietness which none of us possess, Our marks would be higher if we talked less. R is for Rice, Frannie’s her name, Everytime you see her, she’s always the same S is for Shirley whose last name is Kerr, Where Jimmie is, you’ll always find her. T is for tardy marks we have all had, But after all that isn’t so bad. U is for unity, which we use every day, Especially when trying to put on a play. V is for victories which we usually have had, But playing Parishville and Clifton-Fine it was too sad. W is for Webb, Jimmie we say, And we call him it every day. X,Y, and Z are hard ones to rhyme, But in our daily life they are used all the time. This is the alphabet of the class of “49”, And we here by end the poem and off we sign. We wonder how it would seem If Jimmie were a Spider instead of a Webb. If Grace were a Corn instead of Rice. If Betty were Impatience instead of Patience If Carol were a gong instead of Bell. If Jimmy were a Miller instead of a Smith. If Gail were Emptier instead of Fuller. If Hazel were an Alcove instead of Hall. If Frank were Grand instead of Noble. If Cynthia were a Speaker instead of Barker If Shirley were a shelf instead of a Mantle. If Nancy were Taken instead of Given. If Pat were a Bean instead of a Ray. If James were Stone instead of Wood. .fiw. EDWARDIAN
