Miss Sarah R. Enwright, B.A. French Born in Calais, Maine. Prepared at St. Stephen High School. Received her Bachelor of Arts degree from Acadia College. Did graduate Work at McGill, Harvard, and the University of Paris. Before coming to Edward Little in 1922, she taught in Guilford, Maine. Adviser of senior girls. Miss Margaret Gardner, B.A. English Born in Brunswick, Maine. Prepared at Edward Little High School. VVas graduated from Bates College, with a Bachelor of Arts degree. Attended summer sessions at Bates, Boston University, and Emerson. Before coming to Edward Little in 1943, she taught at Norridgewock, Old Orchard Beach, and Brewer, Maine. She is chairman of the Assemhly Board, and is on the junior Class Committee, and the Oracle Staff. Donald M. Gay, B.A. Music Born in Casco, Maine. Prepared at Casco High School. At- tended the University of Maine, where he received the degree of Bachelor of Arts. Taught at NNilliams College: Berwick Academy, and Spaulding High School, Rochester, New Hamp- shire, He is director of the Band and Chorus, and has or- ganized a Swing Band. Page Eighteen Miss Elsie M. Gervais, B.A., M.A. Ifrmzrlz Born in XA'estlioro, Massachusetts. Prepared at Edward Little High School. VVas graduated from Bates College, with a Bachelor of Arts degree and received her Master of Arts degree in 1943. In college, she was elected a member of Phi Beta Kappa. Before coming to Edward Little High School in IQ42, she taught at Webster junior High School. Faculty adviser to the junior Red Cross. Secretary-Treasurer of E. L. H. S. Alumni Association.

Russell D. Carroll, B.A., M.A. Typewritiug and Bookkeeping Born in VVashington, Maine. Prepared at Lewiston High School. Was graduated from Bates College with a Bachelor of Arts degree. Before coming to Edward Little in 1937, he taught at Hodgdon High School, and at Mapleton High School in Maine. Received his Master of Arts degree from Columbia in 1940. He is boxing instructor. Member of Assembly Board. Chairman of Visual Education Committee. Robert C. Chandler, B.S., Ed.M. Chemistry and Biology Born in Columbia Falls, Maine. Prepared at Columbia Falls High School. Received his B.S. degree from Colby College, and his Master of Education degree from Bates College. XNas principal of Sabattus High School. Taught at Edward Little. Served in the Army three years. Returned to Edward Little in 1945. Raymond A. Dean Auto Mccha11ir.v Born in Lowell, Massachusetts. Prepared at Madison High School, Madison, Maine. VVas graduated from Gorham Nor- mal School. Has taught in Solon, in Rockland, and at Web- ster School. He is a member of the staff of the Vocational School. Linwood L Dwelley, B.S. llirrrlor of l'hy.rizfal Education. and Athletics' Born in Calais, Maine. Prepared at Maine Central Institute. VVas graduated from the University of Maine with a Bachelor of Science degree in Education. VVhile at college, he was prominent in football. He did graduate work at Bates, and at the University of Michigan. Before coming to Edward Little in 1930, he taught at Fort Kent, Calais, and at Webster School. He is the coach of NN'inter Sports. Gwendolyn G. Hardy School Nurse Born in Woolwich, Maine. Prepared at Edward Little and Lewiston High Schools. Attended Central Maine General Hospital, Lewiston, Maine and received four months' Public Health Training at Simmons College. She was a staff nurse at Lewiston and Auburn Red Cross. She is a member of the Maine State and National Nursing Organizations Alumnae, Workers' Club. Clyde Hatch, B.A. Biology and Basketball Born in Lowell, Maine. Prepared at Howland High School. VVas graduated from Colby College. Prior to his arrival at Edward Little, he taught at Morse High School, at Bath, and served in the Army Air Force. He is the assistant coach of Football, and the coach of Basketball. the National Organization for Public Health, and the Social WMM Miss Ann W. Hersey Physical Education for Girls Born in Portland, Maine. Prepared at Portland High School. Attended Boston University and Sargent College. Taught at RadcliH'e College and jamaica Plain High School before coming to Edward Little in 1945. She is the faculty adviser of the G. A. A. and the Cheerleaders. George W. Hodson Elm'f1'z'r1'Iy Born in Burnley, England. Prepared at Camden High School, and at Gorham High School. Attended the University of Maine, and in 1940-41, Pennsylvania State College. Taught at Waltoii Junior High School in 1937. Taught in Augusta in 1938. Returned to the Auburn School System in 1939. Taught at VValton from IQ3Q-IQ4I. Came to Edward Little in 1941. At Maine, he was on the rifle team for two years, and also on the boxing team. Was president of the Alpha Lambda Beta at Gorham. He is a member of the Vocational School. Page Nineteen
