ANNIE GET YOUR GUN Annie (Karen Siebenaler) and Frank (Steve Bloir) sing. EDON HIGH SCHOOL MUSICAL The love story of Annie Oakley and Frank Butler is also the story of early Ohioans and their love of entertainment. It was this tale that Rodgers and Hammerstein brought to life in this year ' s musical, Annie Get Your Gun. Shooting matches, Indians, motorcycle rides, and dancing girls dressed in costumes made by the Home Economics Department, provided the back¬ ground for Annie (Karen Siebenaler), Frank (Steve Bloir), and their meddlesome partners, Charlie (Doug Holthues) and Dolly (Cindy Lemmon.) Rehearsals started in March for the April 30-May 1 production with the selection of the cast by directors Jim Gallehue and Lyn Peugeot. For weeks music coming from the band room consisted of such audience catchers as There ' s No Business Like Show Business, and I Can Do Anything Better Than You. Everything was right on schedule with Sherry Bowles ably assisting as student director. Suddenly with nine hours until the curtain went up, the roof fell in. The scenery, on order from Columbus, was not going to arrive. Heads went together, Mrs. Hall and the art classes went to work and at 8:00 the orchestra played, spotlights came on and the curtain opened to a stage filled with background pieces beautifully done by our own students. 13
