EDNEYVILLE HIGH SCHOOL neyville, North Carolina HUNTER BROWN BusTnessJVl FOREWORD It is the little things of the day that may blossom forth into ideas, ideals, and actualities of life. As we sang the spirit¬ ual, We ' re Climbing Jacob ' s Ladder , we realized that school is a process of CLIMB¬ ING higher, higher as we develop our per¬ sonalities, interests, and our capabilities. TABLE OF CONTENTS Dedication.Page 6 Administration .Page 7 Classes.Page 10 Activities.Page 32 Athletics.Page 42 Features.Page 48 Funitivity.Page 60 Senior Challenge.Page 72 Page Three Parent is a six letter word. There are ten thousand endearing terms in the dictionary which we could use in describing our parents. Yet we know that any and all of these terms would fall far short of ex¬ pressing the depths of our devotion and gratitude. Thusly, let us try in this meager way to portray these tender feelings. Therefore to you, the touchstone of our existence; the guiding stars of our en¬ vironment; to y ou, our beloved parents; we do dedicate this edition of the Whispering Pines. Parents help of through the We’re climbing Page Four ADMINISTRATION W. J. NESBITT Principal Edneyville schools are fully accredited. Senior Challenge And here is the challenge of the Class of ' 56. As we emerge from the peaceful, orderly, concrete circles and familiar patterns of childhood, adolesence, and young adulthood, to advance into the ceaseless tide of life with its many demands, we realize partially the great responsibility that is so suddenly thrust upon us. We, in our school life, have climbed many steep mountains and have surmounted many obstacles, yet we realize that the hardest tests lie yet before us„ May the strength and force of our characters, the substantiation of our ideals, and the en¬ durance of our faith in God and man carry i , in an unswerving tide to the heights of our desires.
