In addition the usual projects of Homecoming Assemblies, Lance machine , football programs, hall decorations, Secret Pals, summer workshop , leadership training , Mid-Winter workshop and Community Blood Drives. The Council hosted the Fall District Convention, successfully ran for Dist. Pres. School for 77- 78 and worked hard at State Convention. Sue Brock won third place in Scrapbook competition at state. Winners were selected in two divisions. Hall decorating contest was won by the Junior class, with the Freshman taking second. All of the decorations were exciting and well done. The weather was cold and wet but spirits were high as the cowboys won an impressive victory over the Hitchcock team! These plays involved most of the Drama Club members and were well attended. The UIL One-Act Play was a statement about prejudice. The entire community has a new interest in tennis. The team competed in numerous matches and practice sets. In the Ganado Tournament the team brought home the overall trophy. Girls brought home first place: guys second Cor vice-versaj. At district Timmy Aimone lost to the district winner as did Janda Edwards in the early rounds. Coach and the Cowboys had a good season. The games were well attended by faithful fans who enjoyed the exciting moments of spectacular catches, grand slam home runs, disagreement with officials and watching to see where the foul balls landed. Rex Knopp did most of the Cowboys Varsity pitching.
