Distributing lockers and locks is a job that demands lots of work. This crew at the begin- ning of each school year must distribute locks In all Edmond- At Edmondson we learned from movies. These movies were presented in our classrooms hy the Projection Squad. Under the direction of Mr. William Cihson. the squad mem- bers learned how to operate the projectors and the other equipment used to present the films. how to fix the film. and how to overcome those mechanical difficulties that could arise. This squad helped make learning not only enriching but also enjoyable. they are being: handled properly. New lockers must he num- bered. and new students must he given locks and lockers. PRESENTING THE EDMONDSON HIGH SCHOOL CHOIR. Proving the motto of Edmondson., 4'EXcellence De- mands Sacrificef' the choir achieved a quality of excellence that only comes as the result of long hours of work. Often Mrs. Ceorganna Chester, the choir director, Mr. Edward Roberts, the accompanist, and the choir stayed after school long after most of the students had left. This they did while working for better and better quality. The choir again participated 'in the Music Festival to which all the school choirs in the city are invited. Our choir came away with honors and signs of steady improvement. The choir sang for community and civic groups creating good public relations for Edmondson. The thing that made choir members and leaders the happiest was the great increase in the number of boys in the choir. LISTEN T0 THOSE pear shaped tone of the choir as it sings at commencement. n the International Scene The students of Russian, Spanish, French, Latin, and German, the five languages taught at Edmondson, joined together to celebrate Christmas with an International Party. Carols from the homelands of these languages were sung by the students of each language. The party sponsored by the Language Department, also featured Christmas food from the various countries. This party was not only fun, but it was also a unique culinary experience. Signs saying Merry Christmasi' in five languages were placed around the cafeteria. The members of the United Nations would have been quite at home at Edmondson on the day of the international Christmas Party. The United Nations Group was sponsored by Miss Lyda Keating to stimulate interest in the United Nations Youth of Maryland, and in the UNICEF Halloween Trick or Treatv program to raise money to support the work of UNICEF. Eighty Edmondson students raised 55382.17 this year.
