The members of this group created things for their own pleasure, for the development of their talents. but mostly the club did art work for teachers and for groups around the school. Much of the work shown in the display cases in the cafeteria and auditorium lobbies was produced with the lhelp of the members of this club. l f f EFQDY TO GO to work are these members of the Business Service u . e students of Edmondson lose hair when faced with the proposition of typing even- one sentence, the members of the Business Service Club typed thousands of pages of notices. letters. papers, diagrams. and in other ways served the school. FUTURE TEACHERS OF AMERICA Schoolmarms and masters of the future joined together in Edmondsoifs Future Teachers of America to learn more about the teaching profession. Their purpose also was to ascertain if they were qualified for the profession, and to discover Ways a high school student can prepare himself for teaching. In connection with the exploration of teaching, the mem- bers of the club took a field trip to Lyndhurst Elementary School where they observed classes from the first to sixth grades in action. This year the F. T. A. of our school joined the Mary- land Association of Future Teachers of America. established a charter, and formulated the clubis by-laws. Mrs. Julia Crimes and Mrs. Stella Gersuk. the sponsors of the club. were happy to see boys joining its membership. FUTURE NURSES OF AMERICA Saint Vincent's Orphanage was visited during the Christ- mas season by the Future Nurses Club of Edmondson High School. This was part of the custom of the club of making the holiday season more enjoyable for the patients of some Maryland institution. They also visited Rosewood Training School as part of this program. A home nursing course was sponsored bv the club and was open to any Edmondson student. The course was pre- sented by a representative of the Baltimore chapter of the Red Cross. The members of the club assisted the school nurse, Mrs. Anna Surasky in the Health Suite, gaining practical experi- ence in nursing, while teaching them the requirements and advantages of the profession.

PRESENTING THE EDMONDSON HIGH SCHOOL CHOIR. Proving the motto of Edmondson., 4'EXcellence De- mands Sacrificef' the choir achieved a quality of excellence that only comes as the result of long hours of work. Often Mrs. Ceorganna Chester, the choir director, Mr. Edward Roberts, the accompanist, and the choir stayed after school long after most of the students had left. This they did while working for better and better quality. The choir again participated 'in the Music Festival to which all the school choirs in the city are invited. Our choir came away with honors and signs of steady improvement. The choir sang for community and civic groups creating good public relations for Edmondson. The thing that made choir members and leaders the happiest was the great increase in the number of boys in the choir. LISTEN T0 THOSE pear shaped tone of the choir as it sings at commencement.
