MEMBERS OF THE JUNIOR VARSITY wrestling squad re- ceive instruction from varsity coach, Mr. Siegert. The purpose of the team was to give interested boys practical wrestling experience. Mr. Guy Railey was the coach of the team. TABLE TENNIS Edmondson's girls, A and HB table tennis teams completed their seasons unbeaten. Western fell victim to the A team paddlers by a 5-3 score. The lady Wfarriors defeated Douglass by the same score. Although Forest Park was our badminton nemesis, they easily fell before the mighty strokes of the HB team, 8-0. In its second fray. the BH squad trounced Eastern, 7-1. BASKETBALL Girls, basketball provided a winning season for Edmond- son. The HAH basketball squad lost its opener to Douglass, 33-25. In a strong finish. the 'Skins defeated Western, 23-14, and Eastern, 27-17. The HBH squad avenged the 'LAT' teams lost to Douglass with a 21-11 victory. FUTURE TEACHERS OF AMERICA Schoolmarms and masters of the future joined together in Edmondsoifs Future Teachers of America to learn more about the teaching profession. Their purpose also was to ascertain if they were qualified for the profession, and to discover Ways a high school student can prepare himself for teaching. In connection with the exploration of teaching, the mem- bers of the club took a field trip to Lyndhurst Elementary School where they observed classes from the first to sixth grades in action. This year the F. T. A. of our school joined the Mary- land Association of Future Teachers of America. established a charter, and formulated the clubis by-laws. Mrs. Julia Crimes and Mrs. Stella Gersuk. the sponsors of the club. were happy to see boys joining its membership. FUTURE NURSES OF AMERICA Saint Vincent's Orphanage was visited during the Christ- mas season by the Future Nurses Club of Edmondson High School. This was part of the custom of the club of making the holiday season more enjoyable for the patients of some Maryland institution. They also visited Rosewood Training School as part of this program. A home nursing course was sponsored bv the club and was open to any Edmondson student. The course was pre- sented by a representative of the Baltimore chapter of the Red Cross. The members of the club assisted the school nurse, Mrs. Anna Surasky in the Health Suite, gaining practical experi- ence in nursing, while teaching them the requirements and advantages of the profession.
