Sore muscles and tired bodies were the price of the skills learned by the members of the Gymnastics Group. Working after school under the direction of Mrs. Geraldine Anderson, 'they worked long and hard to be able to perform such feats as somersaults. human pyramids. cartwheels, and many other tumbling activities. They learned to use the apparatus of the physical education department and became skilled in its use. An interest in tumbling in all its aspects led these girls to join the group. After the first gruelling tries and failures, the girls gained skills in tumbling that made the perform- ance of gymnastic activities easy. X. img 15 .iii 4 A I fftyr iii ff , . 2 .Z . The experiment is as successful. More students turned out for the Dance Club than ever be- fore. Lessons and techniques were offered in folk and tap dancing. beginning ballet, and beginning modern dances. Our dance group did not perform last year, but practiced skills and creative movements. The group presented this year, however, a dance adapta- tion of Sleigh Ride at the Christmas assembly. Dancers in green and red whirled around a very helpful snowman. Ready to practice the next dance step are the members of the Dance Group.
