A new distribution policy made the student newspaper available to everyone. while the Eagle staff boasted two new positions: a regular columnist and a stall cartoonist. The name of the column is The liclmondson lfpitaphf' The Eagle received another first place award from the Columbia Press Association, The beginning journalism class formed the nucleus of the reporting stall. Parents got a chance to learn more about their childrenis school life through the Eagles full coverage of sports, school activities. and the latest events. The Eagle slaii took a field trip to a modern newspaper plant in the metropolitan area to see how a large newspaper is published. As well as working hard on a newspaper which had a very successful year, many stall members held part-time jobs after school.

Mr. Charles Sengstaeke. the director of the banrl. turned oxer his baton lo senior Kathleen Calder, the student clireetor. at the Farewell Assembly of the Class of lfebruary l96U. l'iilH1UIHlSOI1lS band played host to the bands of other sch 1i-i ls in the city when they participated in a concert helcl at lfrlmontlson in which the other school bands played.
