'Skins Red Hot, The 1959 season opened its doors on a new era in Ed- mondsonls football program. A crowd upwards of 2,300 was in the stadium on September 18 to welcome varsity football. The game was preceded by the first pep-rally in the history of E. H. S. The Tribe gave the green and gray gridders of Forest Park a 44-0 loss in the initial fray. The 'Skins' first play from scrimmage saw Ray King throw a 55 yard touchdown pass to Earl Miller. The running of King and Maurice Blow and capable ball handling of Sam Leisure paced the 'Skins' attack.
