Edmondson's school library. directed by Miss Anne Jacobson. offered Edmondson students the opportunity to increase their knowledge and to make the most of their leisure time. Teaching the proper use of the librarv was one of Miss Jacobson's projects this year. Classes were instructed in the use of the card catalogue. the classification of subject matter. and in the use of magazines. At the beginning of the vear. the library was converted for several periods each day into classrooms. because of crowded conditions. offering both space and material for teaching. The librarv is used by many students during the lunch periods and after school. as a quiet place to work and study. And Lead The Parent-Teachers Association of Edmondson has done much to aid the school. Through this organizati 4 w n. parents are able to better understand the school ideas and offer their suggestions for improvement. At various meetings. parents and friends were able to see classes in action. At other times. demonstrations were given showing the variety of extra-curricular activities that are offered. Through the efforts of the P. T. A.. the school was able to raise funds needed for extra equipment. The P. T. A. has given invaluable service to the school. MILDRED ADLER, Guidance Department secretary. At Edmondson the job of handling the large amount of paper work was done in our oihce by Miss Doris Bowman and Mrs. Marion Calder and in our Guidance Department by Mrs. Mildred Adler. All three of these secretaries played a vital part in the running of our school. The work they did made it possible for the faculty. counselors, and the administrative staii to spend more time with the students. BEHI D THE CE E To insure the good health of all Edmondson students each student receives a thorough examination sometime after entering Edmondson. This was the duty of school nurse, Mrs. Anna Surasky. and visiting physician, Dr. Oscar Stine. Mrs. Surasky was always ready to render her professional aid to an ailing student or faculty member. The health suite huinmed with activity of some sort constantly. Despite Mrs. Surasky's hectic task of keeping Edmondson healthy, she still found time to sponsor the Future Nurses of America Club.
